Matthew Reilly is a photographer born and raised in Perth, Australia. He grew up in the northern suburbs and was introduced to photography at the age of 17 in 2014. Since then he has achieved the Herbert Medallion for his landscape photography work of Western Australia and was titled ‘Best Youth Photographer of 2015’ for Australia.

His imagery is inspired by music whose atmospheres resonate with his imagery. Each of his images have been carefully titled after songs, or their lyrics, that transport him to another world where he builds these landscapes. His largest influence comes from Seven Lions, an American producer known for his dark and powerful pieces infused with hauntingly beautiful vocals.

Most of his works are from his local beach, Burns Beach, with the remainder coming from other locations around Western Australia. He has recently begun venturing outside of his comfort zone by travelling, hiking and camping to more remote landscapes in an attempt to put his unique spin on these locations.
