Hi,

I'd just like to give you a few details about myself and how far I've come.

My name is Matthew Reilly and I am a photographer from Perth, Western Australia. I was given my first camera as a present for my 17th birthday. The camera was meant to be for casual use and as an upgrade to our family camera. I became the designated 'photographer' in the family with my spankin' new Nikon D90 and kit lens.

The main purpose for it was to take better photos of my art but I quickly took another path, researching for weeks and weeks at home and during school about what ISO, shutter speed and aperture was. I would always think "Imagine when I actually know how to use these settings and change them all at the same time for whatever I need". I even remember searching the internet on how to change to 30 second shutter speed for some 'cool' and 'hip' light painting photos.

I would always put my new photos against my old ones and see that I would just somehow make progress.

Every time I take a photo I look back to last month and there's improvements.

I don't see how someone can't stop improving if they keep giving it time and effort.

So this website is more a timeline of my improvements and merely a showcase of my works.
